My adventure down under

Christmas in summer

Hi y'all!

Last Friday the school holidays started. So the kids didn't have to go to school anymore this week. Monday we spent our day doing crafts at home. Tuesday we went to the library in Chatswood. After we picked some books, we sat in the park in front of the library to have a little picnic. Kayleigh and I were going to have a playdate with all the kids on Wednesday, but Bella was starting to get sick, so we had to cancel.

Thursday was Joss' first day off, so I didn't have to take care of the girls. Instead I wrapped all my Christmas gifts and I started to pack my bags. Friday I went into Chatswood to get some stuff for my trip in January.

Saturday I decided to give my Christmas presents to the kids, since I would leave around 9am the next day to go to a caravan park with Kayleigh. There was lots of screaming and smiles while they were unwrapping their gifts.

Christmas morning around 6am I woke up, because Bella was knocking on my door and telling me to "wake up, because it's Christmas!" So I had to get out of bed so we could unwrap our Christmas gifts. 9o'clock Kayleigh was waiting for me outside of her car. We drove to our cabin and had brunch. It was a lovely day, so we went to the beach for a bit. After we got back to the cabin, we decided we were going to make the puzzle that we brought. When we finished it was time to start making dinner. Yesterday we opened all of our presents and we both Skyped with our family for a bit. We bought another puzzle, but this time a 1000 piece puzzle. We spent almost our entire day trying to finish the puzzle, but after dinner we stopped. We started watching the All you need is love Kerstspecial. After it finished, Kayleigh wanted to go to the bathroom, but she came back into the living room while screaming quite loud because of a giant cockroach. Around 4am I woke up because I felt something walking on my arm, it was a giant cockroach, so naturally I freaked out and didn't fall asleep for another hour. This morning, Kayleigh wanted to open the blinds and another giant cockroach fell down. We were about to have breakfast, but we put everything in bags and packed all of hour stuff. We left to go to the beach so we could have our breakfast there, after that we went back because we hadn't checked out, since the reception wasn't open untill 9am.

Don't forget to have a look at my new pics;).

House auction

Hi y'all!

This Monday Mia was a bit feverish, so while she was sleeping in bed, Bella and I made "tompoezen". After lunch we all went to Chatswood, on our way we stopped at Chatswood park for a play. After that we had to go to the trains so we could go to their swimming class. Tuesday we went to the library, and since it was still really hot outside we got some ice cream afterwards.

After the girls had gone to school on Wednesday, I stayed home, since it was raining all day, to make a list of stuff I would need to take with me in January. Thursday it was still raining, so I stayed home while the girls were at school, to read a book. Friday I stayed home as well, to make some plans for when Falco and dad are coming to Sydney.

Saturday was the auction of the house, and there were a lot of people. But before the auction we had another open house, during that time I went into Chatswood, to get some christmas gifts for Bella and Mia. After the auction we went to a christmas dinner with Jeff's family. Sunday we finally got to put the christmas tree up.

Cheers!

Spider in the car!

Hi y'all!

The week started of like normal, two days with the girls at home. Monday we went to the Crocodile park where we spent part of our day, until it was time for swimming class. Tuesday we went into Chatswood for a big part of the day. We started at the library where we read some books, after about an hour we went to the cinema to buy our tickets for the Trolls movie. The movie wouldn't start for another hour, so we went to get some morning tea at the Donut King. After the girls had finished their donut, we went back to the cinema so we could buy some popcorn and drinks. The girls loved the movie, but Mia did get a bit scared at some point so she sat on my lap for a bit.

Wednesday we had another open house, so I went into Chatswood again. After I got home I looked at some studies for next year. Thursday I stayed home to look at some more studies and to read my book. Friday Kayleigh and I went Christmas shopping in Parramatta, at 5 o'clock I had to be home so I could babysit the girls. Jeff and Joss had a Christmas dinner at work.

Yesterday we had another open house, Kayleigh asked me if I wanted to come to her place, 'cause she still needed some stuff from the mall. We bought a puzzle for in our cabin during Christmas and we had lunch at San Churro. Today we had to leave the house again. Next week will be the last week before the auction of the house, so Jeff wanted people to be able to look at the house whenever they want. This meant that we all had to be out of the house, so it will stay nice and tidy. This time we didn't go to a camping though, Joss and Jeff rented a house in Chatswood for a week, so the girls can easily get to swimming class and school. When me and the girls were in the car, Bella started screaming that there was a spider in the car, I looked around and there was a big hairy huntsman on the ceiling of the car, Jeff got rid of it (thank goodness). Huntsmans aren't dangerous though, they just look really scary. I didn't have time to take a pic of it, but you can look it up on google if you dare...

Cheers!

Blue Mountains

Hi y'all!

This week started as usual, Monday the girls were at home so we went to the Crocodile park, this time with the dog Ebony. After we had been there for a bit, Joss called, telling me that there was a guy coming to put the shower screen in, so we had to go back home. On Tuesday, the girls wanted to go back to the Crocodile park with Ebony.

Wednesday we had another open house, so I went into Chatswood to get some stuff for my trip in January. After school the girls decided to perform a ballet show in the backyard. On Thursday I stayed home to write some Christmas cards. Friday I celebrated Sinterklaas with Falco and my dad via Skype. The rest of the day I stayed home to read my book.

Yesterday we had the second open house of the week, so I went to Kayleigh's house, where we spend the day at the pool. This morning I got on the bus quite early, to go to the Blue Mountains with Kayleigh. We did the Grand Canyon Hike, which was beautiful but very long. After three and a half hours of walking we finally reached the end of the track. We had a little rest in the car before we went to the Three Sisters. After we had looked around for a bit and taken some pictures we went back home.

Don't forget to take a look at the new pictures;)

Bus crash

Hi y'all!

The week started with two full days with the girls. Monday was a warm day, so we played with a water snake in the garden. At 3 o'clock it was time for their swimming class and on the way back home we stopped at the Crocodile park. Tuesday we had a busy day, the photographer was going to take pictures of the house, so I had to take the girls out during the time Joss and Jeff were cleaning up and while the photographer was there. We started the morning by going to the Rocket ship park. After that we went to the bus stop to go to Chatswood, where we went to the library. We walked to Beauchamp park and on the way there we stopped to get donuts and ice cream. When we got back home, the photographer had just left so we could play with the water snake again.

Wednesday, after I brought the girls to school, I went to the postoffice to get a parcel. A bit before 12 o'clock I went to pick up Mia from her school, so she could go to her playdate at Bella's school. Thursday I went into Chatswood for a bit and Friday I went into the city to go to the au pair meet up. After it finished I went to Darling Harbour with Kayleigh where we had lunch.

Saturday we had the first open house, so we had to be out of the house before 10.30am. So I went to a cafe with Joss for a bit, after that we drove to the new house where Joss spoke to the new neighbours and we had a look at the schools nearby. When we got back, the open house had finished and I read my book for the rest of the day.

Today I went to Coogee with Kayleigh, to do the reverse version of the Bondi to Coogee walk. On our way to Coogee the bus drove into a sign from the roadwork at that point. He crashed his mirrors so we couldn't go any further. We had to walk back to the closest bus stop to get on a different bus to Coogee. The walk took us around two and a half hours, it was an amazing walk but quite though. Around 8pm the Christmas tree on Martin Place would have a light show, so we went there after spending some time in Bondi.

Don't forget to take a look at the new pics, they're in the folder Spring time;)

Cheers!

Still at the camping

Hi y'all!

We stayed at the camping until Wednesday morning. On Monday, we went to the playground and the girls rode their bikes around the park until it was time for their swimming class. Tuesday we went for a bush walk to find some ducks, we found one duck a couple of lizards and kookaburras and lots of cockatoos. Joss drove us to the library because we had to bring back some books, after we did that we went to Westfield Mall to get some cupcakes.

On Wednesday morning we left the camping and brought the girls to school. While they were there I read a book in the garden. Thursday the girls had to go to school again and I spent the day at home. Friday when the girls were at school, I went over to Kayleigh's house, where we spent our day at the pool and around 3pm we went to MacArthur Square.

Yesterday I went into Chatswood and wondered around for a bit. And today I went back to Echo Point Park, where I read for a couple of hours.

Don't forget to take a look at my new pictures (they're in the folder "Spring time").

Cheers!

At the camping

Hi y'all!

This week started as usual, Monday the girls were home so we went to Crocodile Park. And at 3pm their swimming class started. On Tuesday Bella had an other orientation hour at her new school. We brought Sofia as well and after we brought her back home the girls stayed there to play for a bit.

Wednesday I stayed home to put wrapping paper around some Christmas gifts and to watch the US elections. Thursday I went into Chatswood and when I got back I started making Sinterklaas wrapping paper out of the Christmas wrapping paper I had left. Friday the painters were back, this time to start painting outside. While they were painting I walked to the post office to send my package.

Yesterday, Kayleigh and I went to Bondi Beach and when I got back home I had to start packing my stuff in my suitcases and pack some stuff for the camping trip on Sunday. Today we went to the camping where we're staying in a little cabin. We went to the pool and the playground and we saw lots of cockatoos.

Don't forget to check our my new pictures, they're in the folder "Spring time".

Cheers!

Gold Coast and Halloween

Hi y'all!

Monday Bella and Mia were home, the painter would be painting in the kitchen, so we went to Crocodile Park, where we had a picnic. When we got back it was almost time for their swimming class. And when we arrived back home, they changed into their Halloween costumes to go trick or treating. We walked around the neighbourhood with Sofia, one of their friends, and her dad. When we got back their buckets were completely full. Tuesday started with another orientation at Bella's new school. Joss was home today and she took us to a house that she'd like to buy and after that we drove back home so we could watch the Melbourne cup. After it finished Bella and Mia decided they wanted to make a roof on the trampoline so they could sleep there during the night.

Wednesday, the girls were at school, so I went into Chatswood to get some stuff for my trip to the Gold Coast. When I got back I started packing my bags. On Thursday I packed the rest of my bag and stayed home during the rest of the day.

Friday morning Jeff brought me to the airport on his way to work. Kayleigh and I arrived at the Gold Coast around 8:30am so we had the entire day to relax at the beach. Around 4pm we met up with a friend of hers who lives in the Gold Coast. Yesterday we spent most of the day at the pool. We went to the centre of Surfers Paradise and went to bed quite early so we could watch the sunrise this morning. Today we woke up at 4am to watch the sunrise at the beach. When we got back to the hotel, we went back to bed for a while. We had to check out at 10am and we had the rest of the day to relax and go for a stroll around Surfers Paradise. Our flight would start boarding at 7pm so at 5pm we took the tram to the airport.

I just got home from the airport, I'll try to upload my pics tomorrow (I didn't take a lot though).

Cheers!
